New Transmission Projects and Grid Expansion

• In Michigan, USA, two new 345 kV double-circuit overhead transmission lines totaling 94 miles were recently approved to strengthen the grid, reduce congestion, and integrate more renewable energy. These projects are part of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) long-range transmission planning.

• In Romania, a 220 kV double circuit overhead line nearing completion will support hydropower energy discharge, with 75% of construction completed and over 100 poles erected.
